Blue Fire Pointer S207 ISS Investigating the factor that affect electrolysis of saltwater and calcium carbonate: Annex B - Research Data

Annex B - Research Data

Results and Data Analysis

The test for which anode material is the most suitable for the corals to grow on the biorock.

We were supposed to test which anode material, brass, copper or aluminium is the most suitable for the corals to grow on the cathode.

                                 After 1 day....
After taking the cathode and the anode out of the fish tank....

The results

Data Analysis
Through the results, we can infer that the anode made up of the material Brass is the most suitable for the corals to grow on the cathode. This is because, the cathode in the setup which had the anode made up of brass had the most difference in weight after the experiment when compared to before the experiment.

The test for which temperature is the most suitable for the corals to grow on the cathode

We were supposed to test which temperature, 15˚C, 20˚C, 25˚C is the most suitable for the corals to grow on the cathode.
After 30 min....

       The results

Data Analysis
Through the results, we can infer that the temperature of 20˚C is the most suitable for the corals to grow on the cathode. This is because, the mass of the cathode differed the most when it was placed in the water of the temperature 20˚C.
